Senior Vibration Engineer - eVTOL Aircraft Development
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Vibration Engineer to join our team in developing cutting-edge eVTOL aircraft. This Senior Vibration Engineer remote position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the structural integrity, reliability, and certification readiness of systems installed across the entire aircraft, while also contributing significantly to passenger comfort.
What You'll Do
- Define, tailor, and validate the criteria for the vibration testing of airborne equipment.
- Collaborate with suppliers of airborne equipment and other stakeholders on vibration environment qualification testing.
- Analyze and interpret vibration test data to determine the vibration tolerance of airborne equipment.
- Provide guidance on design modifications needed to reduce the effects of the aircraft vibration environment on airborne equipment.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on vibration modelling, testing, and data analysis, providing guidance to cross-functional teams during the design and development process.
- Ensure vibration requirements are integrated into the overall vehicle development cycle.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in vibration engineering.
- Strong understanding of vibration physics fundamentals and structural dynamics.
- Detailed knowledge of vibration environment qualification standards, such as DO-160 Section 8, MIL-STD-810 Method 514.
- Practical experience in vibration testing, including impact hammer testing, vibration surveys, and shaker table testing.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Acoustics, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Nice to Have
- Experience working on eVTOL or Urban Air Mobility (UAM) projects.
- Familiarity with vibration mitigation techniques and strategies.
- Experience with acoustic modelling or testing.
