About the Role

Join us as a Full Stack Software Engineer to make a significant impact on global security through innovative technology solutions. This Full Stack Software Engineer role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI-driven systems that support critical scientific work. You will collaborate with a diverse team of scientists and engineers to develop robust data management systems that are essential for mission-critical operations.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and maintain full stack software applications, including front-end user interfaces and back-end services.
  • Utilize modern web frameworks such as React or Angular for front-end development and Python (Flask, FastAPI) or Node (Express, Nest) for back-end services.
  • Implement version control and change management workflows to track changes across evolving data and document versions.
  • Refactor existing scripts into modular, reusable software components to improve reliability and maintainability.
  • Contribute to software quality assurance (SQA) by developing unit tests and ensuring compliance with project standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to gather requirements and provide high-quality software solutions.
  • Apply best practices in software engineering, including code reviews and secure development practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of the Global Security Computing Applications Division.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • Broad experience as a full stack software developer, with proficiency in front-end (React, Angular) and back-end (Python, Node) technologies.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to translate complex requirements into effective software solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration.

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree or PhD in a related technical field.
  • Experience with Neo4J or other graph databases.
  • Experience mentoring junior developers and leading software projects.
