Senior Backend Engineer - Python for Event Ticketing Platform

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer - Python remote to join our innovative team at Paylogic, a leading event ticketing platform. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll work on high-traffic ticketing systems that serve millions of fans and thousands of event organizers. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in the event industry.

What You'll Do

• Design and build production-ready Python services that are reliable and scalable.
• Own and ship payment flows, payout logic, and REST API integrations end-to-end.
• Diagnose and solve performance problems at scale, ensuring optimal system performance.
• Drive technical decisions and contribute meaningfully to architecture discussions.
• Maintain existing systems while shipping new features, ensuring code quality and maintainability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience, with at least 4 years of professional Python experience.
• Proven experience designing and building REST APIs from scratch, including versioning and error handling.
• Strong production-level experience with SQLAlchemy and relational databases.
• Experience with async processing and task queues, such as Celery.
• Ability to own systems end-to-end, from building to debugging and improving based on real-world performance.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience with performance testing frameworks like Pytest and Selenium.
• Knowledge of cloud services and deployment strategies.
