Engineering Manager - Infrastructure for Remote Teams

About the Role

Join Camunda as an Engineering Manager for Infrastructure, a fully remote position where you will lead a high-leverage team of engineers. This Engineering Manager role offers the opportunity to shape the future of our CI/CD infrastructure platform, enabling over 150 engineers to deliver with world-class velocity and quality. What You'll Do

• Continuously deliver and improve our infrastructure platform, ensuring it meets the needs of our engineers.
• Guide the team in reducing manual work through an AI-driven engineering approach, achieving a zero-touch scalable infrastructure.
• Prepare and execute strategies for our CI/CD and artifact distribution systems to scale without increasing engineering toil.
• Grow, mentor, and coach a team of four Infrastructure engineers, fostering a culture of empathy, autonomy, and continuous improvement.
• Act as a servant leader, ensuring that the right way is the easy way for engineers relying on the platform.

Requirements

• Proven people leadership experience with a track record of growing engineers to senior levels.
• Strong stakeholder leadership skills, capable of translating tech needs into actionable engineering roadmaps.
• Senior-level technical depth and competency, with hands-on experience in cloud providers (e.g., GCP, AWS), Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
• Experience scaling high-load CI/CD systems and backend engineering background, fluent in at least one programming language (e.g., Python).
• Proven track record of ensuring team efficiency within remote, async-first environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience transforming teams into AI-native and/or automation-first teams.
• Background in technical product management or strong product thinking.
• Experience implementing FinOps practices and accountability.
