Embedded Software Engineer - Advanced Defense Systems

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Embedded Software Engineer to join our team at Overtech Consulting. This role offers the opportunity to work on advanced real-time software for defense and aerospace systems. As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will be involved in the integration of subsystems, development of software for control platforms, and testing on target platforms. This position is based in La Spezia, Italy, and includes relocation support.

What You'll Do

• Develop embedded software in C/C++ for hard real-time systems.
• Integrate and test software on hardware platforms.
• Create simulators for validation and verification processes.
• Debug communication interfaces (Ethernet, serial protocols).
• Analyze requirements and validate software performance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including system engineers, hardware specialists, and testers.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in C/C++ development.
• Experience with embedded systems and/or real-time applications.
• Familiarity with Linux or RTOS environments.
• Ability to work on integration and debugging tasks.

Nice to Have

• Experience with RTOS (VxWorks, PikeOS, or similar).
• Knowledge of communication protocols (TCP/IP, RS232/422, etc.).
• Experience in safety-critical environments.
• Familiarity with tools like DOORS or Polarion.
• Knowledge of MISRA standards.
