About the Role

We are seeking a Director of Admissions to join our team at North Star Behavioral Health. This remote Director of Admissions position offers a unique opportunity to lead the Intake and Admissions Department at one of Alaska's premier mental health facilities. With a focus on providing hope and healing to individuals facing psychiatric or substance abuse challenges, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of mental health care.

What You'll Do

• Plan, organize, supervise, and direct the activities of the Intake and Admissions Department.
• Implement, monitor, and evaluate the clinical patient assessment and referral process.
• Lead a team dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and support.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
• Facilitate training and professional development opportunities for staff.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
• Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work (licensed preferred), or a related field, or Active RN Licensure.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Intake counseling in a Mental Health Setting or equivalent role in a clinical setting.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience managing personnel and ensuring clinical integrity.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven leadership abilities and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Nice to Have

• Experience in behavioral health or substance abuse treatment settings.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
• Certification in Mental Health First Aid or similar training.
