Missile Operations Research Engineer - Advanced Systems
About the Role
We are seeking a Missile Operations Research Engineer to join our Advanced Programs Software and Operational Analysis team at Northrop Grumman. This Missile Operations Research Engineer remote position will involve developing models, performing data analysis, and communicating findings to stakeholders. You will also train and mentor junior analysts, making a significant impact on our projects.
What You'll Do
- Develop and apply advanced software and systems methods to solve complex technical problems.
- Create and modify tools for data analysis of simulation or flight test results.
- Model operational environments and perform trade studies via computer simulation.
- Develop software to model system behavior in real-time simulations.
- Perform mission simulations using industry-standard tools such as MATLAB and Simulink.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Physics with 12+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 9+ years, or PhD with 6+ years.
- Experience as an AFSIM developer/analyst, including creating observers and performing large Design of Experiments (DoE) studies.
- Active US Government DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to get cleared for SAP.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as C/C++ and experience with data visualization tools.
- Ability to communicate technical data effectively to leadership and stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience with simulation frameworks like AFSIM, Suppressor, and others.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and system architecture frameworks.
- Strong debugging skills and experience with version control tools (e.g., GitHub).
