DevOps Engineer - Cloud-Native Technologies

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team at Northrop Grumman. This DevOps Engineer remote position is pivotal in supporting critical missions through the automation and deployment of cloud-native technologies, ensuring the resilience and efficiency of our infrastructure. The role is primarily onsite in either Dulles, VA, or El Segundo, CA, and involves working in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) environment.

What You'll Do

• Automate cloud-native technologies, deploying applications, and provisioning critical infrastructure to support mission requirements.
• Work with microservices and distributed application architectures, including containers, Kubernetes, and serverless technologies.
• Configure and deploy optimized infrastructure within the OpenStack cloud ecosystem.
• Monitor system health and resource utilization using enterprise tools such as Nagios, ensuring operational stability and performance.
• Document deployment procedures, best practices, and operational workflows to maintain knowledge continuity.
• Implement and manage operational monitoring tools to ensure system reliability.
• Collaborate with the DevOps team to develop, troubleshoot, and optimize automated deployment processes.
• Mentor team members and cross-train to foster a high-performing, knowledgeable DevOps environment.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance and U.S. citizenship required.
• Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• 3+ years of DevOps experience with technical leadership experience.
• Familiarity with Jira metrics, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), and Kubernetes.
• Preferred qualifications include a STEM degree, experience with Linux automation and scripting, Python, OpenStack, Docker, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab.
