About the Role

We are seeking a Deployed Security Group Leader to join our team in a remote capacity. This role is critical in developing and implementing cost-effective security programs that maintain compliance and foster a culture of security awareness throughout the Laboratory. As a Deployed Security Group Leader, you will collaborate closely with ALDDP Leadership and various LANL organizations to benchmark policies and practices, ensuring alignment with the Associate Laboratory Director for Defense Protection (ALDDPP) goals.

What You'll Do

  • Lead a large, deployed organization through significant changes while ensuring adherence to safety, security, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Help implement LANL's Integrated Safeguards and Security Management within line functions.
  • Respond to requests for information and publish articles addressing security policies and frequently asked questions.
  • Assist organizations in developing Activity Security Plans and Security Implementation Plans.
  • Conduct new hire and initial security briefings, acting as a point of contact between supported organizations and core security services.
  • Provide security updates, lessons learned, and best practices to employees through various communication channels.
  • Visit managers to share trends/indicators, conduct causal analysis, and assist with implementing measures to strengthen performance.
  • Foster a strong security culture to protect LANL's special nuclear material, classified information, and personnel.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in security leadership, with a proven track record in executing complex security programs.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data to identify security-related issues.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, with the capability to present findings to senior management.
  • Knowledge of DOE, NNSA, and Laboratory security policies, with experience in DOE security audits and inspections.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in project planning and conducting research to recommend solutions for security programs.
  • Thorough understanding of the Laboratory's physical, technical, and information security programs.
  • Active DOE Q clearance.
