Head of Digital Transformation/​CTO - Higher Education

About the Role

Ellucian is seeking a Head of Digital Transformation/CTO to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a leadership role that drives innovation in higher education technology. As the Head of Digital Transformation/CTO, you will be pivotal in shaping the technology strategy at Merced College, ensuring that our initiatives align with the institution's goals. This position is not just about overseeing technology; it's about transforming the educational experience for students, faculty, and staff through innovative solutions. This role will be based onsite, providing a collaborative environment to foster growth and development.

What You'll Do

• Lead the development and implementation of the District technology plan in support of the Educational Master Plan.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the Chancellor, providing insights on technology strategy and governance.
• Drive technology transformation initiatives, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across the college community.
• Establish and direct strategic goals, policies, and procedures that benefit the institution.
• Oversee the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Grants, enhancing program delivery and assessment.
• Foster relationships with faculty, staff, and students to promote a culture of collaboration and innovation.
• Manage technology projects, assessing needs and recommending resources and actions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Leadership.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Information Technology, preferably in a higher education environment.
• Prior experience in executive leadership roles, particularly with Chancellor-level interactions.
• Strong knowledge of technology trends in higher education and familiarity with Ellucian solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to travel up to 25% as needed.

• Experience with Ellucian Colleague SaaS and other ERP/SIS solutions.
• High emotional intelligence and sensitivity to institutional culture.
• Proven track record of successful technology project management.
