We are seeking a Data Science Engineering Manager to join our team in a fully remote capacity. What You'll Do

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Act as the technical lead for data science initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with project goals.
  • Design, develop, and review scalable data solutions using SQL, Python, and PySpark.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to build and optimize ETL pipelines in cloud-based environments.
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders and leadership.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Drive best practices in data architecture, documentation, testing, and deployment.
  • Monitor project performance, remove blockers, and continuously improve workflows and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in data science or data engineering, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong experience working with healthcare datasets such as Medicaid or Medicare claims is highly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and PySpark for large-scale data processing and analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks and cloud environments (e.g., AWS).
  • Solid understanding of data engineering principles, ETL processes, and data modeling techniques.
  • Familiarity with software development best practices including version control and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries.
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance, particularly GDPR.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
