Data Engineer (GCP Focus) - Remote Position

About the Role

We are looking for a talented Data Engineer (remote) to join our dynamic team at Comparis.ch. In this role, you will design, implement, and continuously optimize platform services on our modern industry-standard GCP-based data environment. You will collaborate with software architects, engineers, data scientists, and business analysts in an agile environment to define data needs and provide effective solutions.

What You'll Do

• Develop a high-quality code base for our data pipelines.
• Provision and monitor our data products, ensuring optimal performance.
• Maintain our data pipeline orchestration, data lake, and data warehouse.
• Engage in agile practices to foster a collaborative work environment.
• Contribute to the development of AI-driven data products that enhance user experience.
• Lead initiatives for data and engineering improvements.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer in a similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of SQL programming and dbt.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services like BigQuery, Cloud Run, Dataproc, and Dataflow.
• Proficient in developing high-quality software with unit and integration tests in languages such as Python or Java.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and Git for version control.
• Experience managing data pipeline workflows with Airflow.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and infrastructure as code frameworks like Terraform.
• Experience with distributed computing technologies such as Apache Spark is a plus.
