Cybersecurity Specialist - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Specialist to protect systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. This fully remote role involves monitoring security events, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing security measures to safeguard organizational assets. As a Cybersecurity Specialist remote, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and security of our IT infrastructure.

What You'll Do

• Monitor systems and networks for security breaches and suspicious activity.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential risks.
• Implement and manage security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and SIEM.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
• Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
• Conduct risk assessments and threat analysis to proactively address vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with IT teams to secure infrastructure and applications.
• Provide security awareness training to employees to foster a culture of security.
• Maintain documentation and incident reports for compliance and auditing purposes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2–5+ years of experience in cybersecurity or information security roles.
• Strong knowledge of network security, system security, and encryption methods.
• Experience with security tools such as Splunk, Wireshark, Nessus, and Metasploit.
• Familiarity with operating systems including Windows and Linux.
• Understanding of security frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS Controls.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Nice to Have

• Certifications such as CEH, CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or CISM.
• Experience with cloud security solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices.
• Familiarity with SOC operations.
• Experience in industries such as banking, fintech, or IT services.
