Contract Data Engineer - Remote Position

About the Role

We are looking for a Contract Data Engineer to join our team remotely. As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building core infrastructure software that supports our clients' data platforms. This Contract Data Engineer remote position offers the flexibility of working from anywhere in Europe while contributing to impactful projects.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement data pipelines, APIs, and data models to enhance our clients' data capabilities.
• Utilize technologies such as dbt, Kafka, Spark, AWS Kinesis, AWS Lambda, and Apache Airflow to build modern data pipelines.
• Instrument systems for performance and ensure secure authentication patterns for data access.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers, fostering their technical growth and expertise.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to deliver high-quality solutions that meet client expectations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in writing maintainable and performant Python code.
• Strong background in building data pipelines and understanding data modeling patterns.
• Deep knowledge of complex SQL, including Common Table Expressions and window functions.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as CloudWatch and Datadog.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and a customer-focused mindset.
