Cloud Database Administrator - Remote Role

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Cloud Database Administrator to join our team remotely. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in cloud data platforms to support and optimize our database environments. As a Cloud Database Administrator remote position, you will work with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure the performance and reliability of our data solutions.

What You'll Do

• Manage, monitor, and optimize Amazon Redshift and Google BigQuery environments to ensure high availability and performance.
• Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for cloud databases.
• Handle user access, security controls, and compliance measures to protect sensitive data.
• Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and cost monitoring to optimize cloud resources.
• Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to design scalable data warehouse architectures.
• Recommend partitioning, clustering, and distribution strategies for efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Build scripts and automation for monitoring, deployment, and maintenance tasks.
• Optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for performance and cost efficiency, ensuring smooth data flow.

Requirements

• 7–8+ years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) with a focus on cloud data platforms.
• Strong hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift and Google BigQuery.
• Excellent SQL skills with a focus on query optimization.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as dbt, Airflow, Talend, or similar.
• Knowledge of AWS and GCP cloud environments.
• Understanding of data security and access controls.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience in cost optimization for cloud data warehouses.
• Exposure to automation and scripting for database management.
• Background supporting analytics and BI workloads.
