Chief Engineer - Space Systems (Remote)

About the Role

Anduril Industries is seeking a Chief Engineer - Space Systems to join our innovative team. This Chief Engineer remote position will lead the development of advanced space systems that enhance military capabilities. You will play a pivotal role in transforming the future of defense technology through cutting-edge autonomy, AI, and sensor fusion.

What You'll Do

• Serve as the technical lead for spacecraft missions, focusing on dynamic space operations and maneuverable satellites.
• Drive technology development through design, build, test, and delivery phases for on-orbit operations.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary engineering team to ensure the efficient development and delivery of hardware and software solutions.
• Develop a technical strategy and roadmap in conjunction with the Head of Engineering for Space Missions.
• Oversee all aspects of program execution from proposals to delivery of flight units for launch.
• Facilitate effective technical development and integration across company boundaries in an agile environment.
• Communicate development status to internal and external stakeholders effectively.
• Assist in building infrastructure for executing space-based interceptor projects.

Requirements

• Experience in architecting and delivering defense satellite and space hardware and software systems.
• Strong understanding of high dV spacecraft and dynamic space operations.
• Ability to decompose complex systems into executable requirements and deliver on those to meet government expectations.
• Familiarity with spacecraft standards for qualification testing and acceptance testing.
• Strong technical communication skills for delivering critical briefings to leadership and customers.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

• Experience with US government space mission areas.
• Knowledge of space vehicle and payload architectures.
