Blockchain Engineer - Remote Opportunity at MoonPay

About the Role

We are looking for a Blockchain Engineer to join our team at MoonPay. This remote Blockchain Engineer position offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects that empower users to engage with the decentralized economy. What You'll Do

• Design and improve high-volume transaction broadcasting pipelines.
• Manage the transaction lifecycle, including detecting, retrying, and safely recovering stuck transactions.
• Contribute to wallet infrastructure and automation systems.
• Implement safe parallel transaction handling and improve monitoring and observability.
• Build infrastructure supporting cross-chain and multi-step flows.
• Design state machines and recovery strategies for partial failure scenarios.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers to design scalable implementation strategies.
• Participate in incident response and post-mortems to improve system resilience.

Requirements

• Strong backend/platform engineering fundamentals.
• Experience operating production systems with real uptime requirements.
• Hands-on experience interacting with live blockchain networks in production.
• Clear understanding of transaction lifecycle in at least one blockchain.
• Ability to explain a real production incident end-to-end.

Nice to Have

• Experience working at exchanges or high-volume DeFi platforms.
• Familiarity with UTXO-based chains like Bitcoin.
• Experience designing cross-chain or multi-step transaction orchestration systems.
