About the Role

Join Anchorage Digital as a Backend Engineer, a pivotal role in our Member of Technical Staff, Transparency team. This position is fully remote, allowing you to contribute to our mission of building the world’s most advanced digital asset platform for institutions to participate in crypto. As a Backend Engineer, you will enhance client onboarding experiences through back-end APIs, ensuring compliance with regulatory commitments while supporting transaction monitoring and screening for risk detection and fraud prevention.

What You'll Do

• Design and build maintainable and extensible backend solutions for complex distributed systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including compliance, customer experience, and legal to ensure regulatory adherence.
• Drive medium-to-large projects independently, breaking them down into manageable tasks and accurately estimating time and scope.
• Mentor and guide team members, sharing knowledge and fostering a collaborative environment.
• Communicate effectively across teams to solve problems and establish positive working relationships.

Requirements

• Real-world experience building complex distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of code quality, test infrastructure, and extensible architecture.
• Ability to prioritize end-user experience and business value over the latest technology trends.
• Familiarity with computer science fundamentals such as concurrency, algorithms, and data structures.
• Experience in a fast-paced agile software environment, capable of context switching between multiple tasks.

Nice to Have

• Experience implementing regulatory compliance controls in the financial services industry.
• Familiarity with technologies such as GraphQL, gRPC, and Temporal.
• Comfortable diving into open source projects to troubleshoot and root cause issues.
