Associate Director - Tax Controller and Deputy Finance Manager
About the Role
Join our team as an Associate Director - Tax Controller and Deputy Finance Manager, where your expertise in finance and tax will play a crucial role in shaping our London Branch's operations. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with our Head Office in Hannover, ensuring that our tax landscape is modern, reliable, and insight-driven. What You'll Do
- Take full ownership of our tax landscape by preparing and submitting all direct and indirect taxes, including Transfer Pricing, Corporation Tax, and VAT.
- Drive the month-end close process, leading balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
- Enhance financial controls and refine processes to maintain high-quality documentation and ensure audit readiness.
- Collaborate closely with the finance team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and provide support when needed.
- Contribute to transparent financial planning and forecasting, utilizing your analytical skills to inform decision-making.
- Strengthen collaboration with our Head Office in Hannover, aligning processes and sharing best practices across locations.
Requirements
- At least five years of financial, management, and tax accounting experience within financial services.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables; experience with Sage or SAP is a plus.
- A hands-on all-rounder who enjoys working end-to-end across financial processes.
- Comfortable working independently as well as within a supportive team setting.
Nice to Have
- Solid understanding of banking products such as loans and swaps.
- ACCA or CIMA qualification (or equivalent).
- German language skills are considered a plus.
