Senior AI/​ML Engineer - Generative AI & Azure Solutions

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior AI/ML Engineer to join our team at Wypoon Technologies, focusing on Generative AI and Azure solutions. As a Senior AI/ML Engineer remote, you will play a crucial role in our large-scale digital transformation, enhancing our AI and Machine Learning capabilities to deliver intelligent, secure, and scalable solutions on Microsoft Azure.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop AI-powered applications, including RAG-based systems and intelligent APIs, using Python and modern frameworks such as FastAPI.
• Build and deploy scalable Generative AI solutions on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) using Docker, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Integrate Azure OpenAI and open-source models, including prompt orchestration, streaming, fallback strategies, and cost optimization.
• Design and optimize retrieval pipelines and vector search solutions (e.g., Azure AI Search, PostgreSQL/pgvector).
• Contribute to the development of reusable AI platform components, including APIs, templates, and SDK-like building blocks.
• Ensure observability, monitoring, and performance optimization of AI services in production.
• Collaborate with product, data, and platform teams to translate business needs into scalable AI solutions.
• Support the transition from PoC to production-grade systems, ensuring reliability, security, and maintainability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, ML engineering, or AI development, with recent exposure to Generative AI use cases.
• Strong programming skills in Python, with a focus on clean code, testing, and maintainability.
• Hands-on experience building APIs using FastAPI (or similar frameworks).
• Solid understanding of Generative AI concepts, including RAG, embeddings, prompt engineering, and evaluation techniques.
• Experience with vector search and retrieval optimization (chunking strategies, hybrid search, re-ranking, filtering).
• Proven experience working with Azure cloud services, such as Azure OpenAI, AI Search, AKS, ACR, and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and MLOps practices.
• Strong understanding of scalability, performance, and cost optimization in cloud environments.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
