Assistant Financial Controller - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

CloudFactory is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to join our dynamic team. This remote role is perfect for someone who thrives on making the complex simple. As an Assistant Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in our five-entity international group, which spans the US, UK, Germany, Nepal, and Kenya. You will lead the global close, drive consolidation reporting under IFRS, and manage a talented, distributed accounting team while leveraging automation and AI-enabled workflows.

What You'll Do

• Lead the Accounting department at CloudFactory, overseeing day-to-day accounting, periodic closing, reconciliation, and statutory filing.
• Take full ownership of the consolidated P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analysis, managing intercompany eliminations and multi-currency consolidation.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting under IFRS, preparing variance analysis and business insights for leadership.
• Supervise and mentor a global team of approximately 8 across AP, AR, and general accounting.
• Act as the finance team’s NetSuite power user, identifying improvement opportunities and streamlining workflows.
• Champion AI tools and advanced workflows to minimize repetitive tasks and enhance value-added analysis.
• Coordinate US payroll and UK payroll processing with stakeholders, supporting cash forecasting and banking relationships.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting or a related field, with a focus on consolidation and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
• Proven ability to lead and develop distributed teams across multiple time zones.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to leverage AI and automation in finance processes.
