AI Engineer - Remote Opportunity in Cybersecurity

About the Role

We're hiring an AI Engineer to join our rapidly-growing cybersecurity SaaS startup. This AI Engineer remote position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and make a significant impact in the field of cloud security. You will be part of a dynamic team of approximately 40 professionals, working fully remotely from anywhere in Europe, with quarterly team get-togethers.

What You'll Do

• Design and scale LLM-powered agents operating in live cloud environments.
• Architect backend systems to support agent orchestration, evaluation, and reliability.
• Build production-grade services that integrate AI components with deterministic systems.
• Make AI systems more reliable, observable, and cost-efficient.
• Optimize performance of distributed workloads.
• Ship customer-facing remediation tooling.
• Expand into AppSec, focusing on static analysis and software vulnerabilities.
• Work in a greenfield, high-ownership environment.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background with mastery of Python.
• Experience building and shipping LLMs or AI-agent systems in production.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and scalability trade-offs.
• Expertise in AWS.
• Proven ability to operate in ambiguity and build from first principles.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in big tech or rapidly scaling startups.
• Founding engineer experience.
• Domain expertise in AI and/or Cyber Security, particularly in vulnerability management.
• Experience with agent frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, DSPy, or custom orchestration layers.
• Familiarity with evaluation frameworks, tracing, and observability for LLM systems.
• Experience scaling systems under real load.
