Accounting & Compliance Specialist - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking an Accounting & Compliance Specialist to join our team at Campari Group in a remote capacity. This role is integral to our Finance & Administration team within Campari Benelux, ensuring that FP&A and Tax activities are executed effectively. You will collaborate closely with our Shared Services Center to support the Finance team with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
What You'll Do
- Conduct operational and FP&A analysis, analyzing cost trends and forecasting future spending (SG&A).
- Support the Finance team with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Verify invoice accuracy and follow up on invoices lacking proper format or authorization.
- Assist senior accountants during external audits, including fiscal and VAT audits when necessary.
- Maintain and improve management reporting systems and processes to support the organization.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and applicable laws.
- Manage customer accounts, ensuring timely payments and conducting aged creditor analysis.
- Create purchase orders and match invoices to purchase orders as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within an FP&A/accounting team of a multinational company.
- Experience in the FMCG business is a plus.
- Proficiency in SAP and a clear understanding of accounting principles.
- Knowledge of Belgium and Netherlands tax laws and International Accounting Standards.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
Nice to Have
- Experience with financial modeling and forecasting.
- Familiarity with compliance regulations in the spirits industry.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
