2nd Shift Manufacturing Manager - Remote Opportunities
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced 2nd Shift Manufacturing Manager to join our team at Northrop Grumman. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead our Machine Shop and Metal Parts Inspection teams, ensuring that operations are completed safely, on time, and within budget. As a 2nd Shift Manufacturing Manager remote role, you will have the chance to make a significant impact on our operations while working with a talented team.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage a team of 5-12 machinists and support staff on the 2nd shift.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee machining operations, focusing on CNC and conventional machines.
- Implement process improvements using Lean Performance Enterprise System (PES) tools.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide mentorship to team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve production goals.
- Manage scheduling and resource allocation to optimize workflow.
- Prepare reports and documentation related to production metrics.
Requirements
- 8-10 years of experience in a machine shop environment with a strong understanding of CNC and conventional machining.
- 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship.
- Demonstrated experience in estimating machining hours and identifying machining processes.
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and requirements is preferred.
- 5-axis machining experience is a plus.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with Additive Manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Active Secret Clearance.
