About the Role
Community Energy Labs (CEL) is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join our team remotely. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for our customers, providing essential support for site integrations, troubleshooting, and onboarding new sites. This Technical Support Engineer remote position is crucial for delivering our innovative, money- and carbon-saving solutions.
What You'll Do
- Act as a project manager for new site onboarding, ensuring smooth integration of HVAC systems and thermostat APIs with CEL’s platform.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for customers, both remotely and on-site, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with our product and engineering teams to improve technology and enhance customer experience.
- Document site-specific integrations, IP assignments, and network diagrams.
- Travel to customer sites for installation and troubleshooting, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in customer service or technical support roles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in conveying technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with Linux systems (Debian or Ubuntu) and secure connection tools (SSH, SFTP).
- Basic understanding of networking concepts such as IP addresses, DHCP, and VLANs.
- Experience working with APIs and interpreting structured data formats like JSON and XML.
Nice to Have
- Experience in trades, construction management, or field operations.
- Scripting skills in Bash or Python for automating tasks.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems and building automation technologies.
