Student Assistant for Events and Administration - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are looking for a proactive Student Assistant for Events and Administration to join our team at Universiteit Leiden. This remote opportunity allows you to contribute to the career development of students while gaining valuable experience in event organization, communication, and administration.
What You'll Do
- Support the organization of career events, including workshops, open days, and job fairs.
- Welcome and assist speakers and participants during events.
- Promote activities through lectures and distribute promotional materials within the faculty.
- Assist with online communication, such as event announcements and website updates.
- Respond to inquiries in the Career Service mailbox and conduct CV, LinkedIn, and motivation letter checks.
- Coordinate practical matters such as space, materials, registration, and planning.
- Help prepare workshops and training sessions while maintaining and updating practical information channels.
- Identify student needs and questions to improve our services.
Requirements
- You are a proactive student at Universiteit Leiden, preferably from the FGGA faculty.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to approach people easily.
- Organized and able to maintain oversight, even during busy periods.
- Flexible and enthusiastic about attending events.
- Independent yet enjoy working collaboratively in a small team.
- Experience in organizing or promoting events is a plus, but not required.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in event management or administration.
- Familiarity with online communication tools and platforms.
- Interest in career development and student services.

This position is for 0.4 FTE (16 hours/week) and will be contracted through JobMotion. The appointment will be from June 1, 2026, to August 31, 2027. In June, July, and August, hours will be built up for a smooth onboarding process, starting with 4 hours/week and increasing to 16 hours/week by the end of August 2026. Working hours will be determined in consultation.
At the FGGA Faculty Office, we work in a hybrid model, with a minimum of 40% on-site presence. The salary is based on the current scale for student assistants (minimum SA2 €3084 and maximum SA4 €3141 for a 38-hour workweek).
