Staff Analytics Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role
We're hiring a Staff Analytics Engineer to join our team at Kit, a leading email-first operating system for creators. As a Staff Analytics Engineer remote, you will play a crucial role in building a robust analytics foundation that empowers our teams to make data-driven decisions confidently.
What You'll Do
- In your first week, you will complete onboarding and familiarize yourself with our core tools including dbt, GitHub, Redshift, and Slack.
- By the end of your first month, you will audit existing Reporting Hub models and assess Redshift performance, publishing a detailed architectural assessment memo.
- Within six months, you will propose a modernization roadmap for our modeling layer and begin executing it, ensuring all teams can explore data independently.
- Throughout your first year, you will complete the Reporting Hub foundation and enable stakeholder self-service, significantly reducing the dependency on the Data team for routine inquiries.
- Drive the adoption of canonical metrics across the organization, ensuring consistency and reliability in data interpretation.
Requirements
- 7-10+ years of experience in analytics engineering or a closely related field, with a strong focus on SQL and data modeling.
- Proven expertise in Redshift and dbt, with the ability to build modular, well-documented code.
- Experience in SaaS environments, particularly with revenue recognition and churn logic.
- Strong written communication skills, capable of creating clear architectural memos and documentation.
- Ability to navigate complex metric definitions and maintain analytical rigor in challenging situations.
Nice to Have
- Experience with product analytics modeling and cohort/retention modeling.
- Familiarity with Segment event architecture and identity resolution.
- Collaboration experience with infrastructure engineers to tackle performance challenges.
