SQL & SSIS Documentation Specialist - Remote

About the Role

Piper Companies is currently looking for an SQL & SSIS Documentation Specialist to work remotely for a well-established non-profit organization. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing, aligning, and standardizing an existing documentation library developed by multiple teams and individuals using varying approaches. This position is initially slated for 6 months but has the potential to extend or convert into a permanent role.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, maintain, and optimize SQL Server queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.
• Develop, troubleshoot, and enhance SSIS packages to support ETL processes and data workflows.
• Identify inconsistencies, gaps, redundancies, and misalignments in documentation structure, terminology, and standards.
• Retroactively update, consolidate, and normalize documentation to ensure consistency and usability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure documentation meets organizational standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience in the field preferred.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server, including advanced querying and performance optimization.
• Proven experience developing and maintaining SSIS packages.
• Experience with document control and familiarity with healthcare IT, including healthcare data, systems, or workflows.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Nice to Have

• Experience with data governance and compliance standards.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of data architecture and enterprise data systems.
