About the Role
We are seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our prestigious culinary team at Barrière, located in the heart of Paris. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the culinary production meets the high standards of our renowned establishment. What You'll Do
- Oversee the preparation, quality, and presentation of dishes, ensuring compliance with technical specifications.
- Manage inventory, purchasing, and stock levels of products and goods.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper functioning of kitchen tools and equipment in accordance with hygiene regulations (HACCP).
- Supervise kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment.
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and development, contributing innovative ideas to enhance our culinary offerings.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation in the kitchen.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, sharing your culinary expertise.
- Work flexible hours, including night shifts, to meet the demands of our busy kitchen.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a high-end restaurant or hotel.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen management.
- Familiarity with HACCP standards and food safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to motivate and guide the kitchen team.
- Creativity and a passion for culinary arts, with a desire to innovate and improve.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in computer tools for inventory and kitchen management.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of French is a plus.
