Social Worker - Refugee Support (Remote)
About the Role
Join our team as a Social Worker in Refugee Support, where you will make a significant impact on the lives of individuals and families in need. As a Social Worker, you will be working remotely, providing essential support to refugees in Cologne, Germany.
What You'll Do
- Provide care and counseling to refugees, including women, men, and families.
- Establish connections with local authorities, healthcare providers, schools, and community organizations.
- Manage organizational tasks related to the intake and exit of clients.
- Conduct interviews with clients to develop their perspectives and plans for their time in Germany.
- Specialize in specific areas such as violence protection or volunteer work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work or Social Pedagogy is mandatory.
- Open to both recent graduates and experienced professionals.
- Familiarity with social law is preferred.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new contexts.
- Foreign language skills are a plus but not required.
- Empathy, humor, and a positive attitude are essential.
- Ability to work independently while being a team player.
Nice to Have
- Experience in working with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of local resources and services for refugees.
- Previous volunteer experience in social services.
