Planning Manager - Transportation Infrastructure
About the Role
We are looking for a Planning Manager to join our dynamic team in the transportation infrastructure sector. This Planning Manager remote position is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Transpennine Route Upgrade (East) (TRUe) project, where you will play a crucial role in delivering innovative solutions that enhance transportation networks.
What You'll Do
- Establish and maintain realistic schedules for the project, identifying critical issues and proposing effective solutions that align with the wider TRU programme.
- Collaborate across disciplines and with sub-contractors to develop and revise the delivery programme, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of intended delivery strategy.
- Contribute to periodic progress reporting, identifying issues, risks, and proposing actionable solutions.
- Ensure key stakeholders are appropriately informed and contribute to the risk register and schedule risk analysis.
- Lead collaborative planning and interface workshops, promoting the Planning function and driving best practices.
- Inspire and empower the wider planning community to deliver high-quality standards and outputs.
- Coach, support, and provide formal training to others in the project.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in Civil Engineering and/or Construction projects, with a proven track record of delivering large-scale civil structures, ideally with a Tier 1 contractor.
- Sound working knowledge of NEC contracts, particularly Clauses 31 & 32 and the commercial interfaces.
- Proficient in Primavera P6 planning software.
- Effective and clear communicator, skilled in building relationships in large, fast-paced, multi-discipline teams.
- Full project lifecycle experience, particularly design & build within large-scale rail and structure projects is desirable.
- Must have a full driving license and be willing to travel occasionally to various delivery hubs.

- Experience in coaching and training others in project management practices.
- Knowledge of innovative project delivery methods.
