Mid-Senior Application Security Engineer - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Mid-Senior Application Security Engineer to join our team remotely. In this role, you will focus on enhancing the security posture of applications and systems, ensuring compliance with federal standards. What You'll Do

• Support Static Application Security Testing (SAST) and Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) using tools like Veracode and Burp Suite.
• Implement enterprise-wide security controls to secure applications, systems, and infrastructure services.
• Develop and maintain security practices in Java, Python, .NET, or C# environments.
• Conduct security assessments and ensure compliance with OWASP Top 10, CVSS, CWE, and federal standards such as NIST 800-53.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle.
• Utilize tools like Eclipse, JDeveloper, and Visual Studio for secure application development.
• Write and maintain bash scripts for automation and security tasks.
• Participate in the onboarding process to obtain SEC Public Trust clearance.

Requirements

• 6+ years of Information Technology experience, with a focus on application security.
• 3+ years of experience with SAST and DAST tools, specifically Veracode and Burp Suite.
• 2+ years of programming experience in Java, Python, .NET, or C#.
• Strong knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and federal compliance standards.
• Familiarity with Linux or UNIX environments and troubleshooting connectivity issues.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Interactive Application Security Testing (IAST) tools.
• Familiarity with HackerOne and Selenium.
• Experience with OWASP ZAP or Burp Proxy.
