Senior Rail Safety Risk Consultant - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Rail Safety Risk Consultant to join our team remotely. In this role, you will lead safety assurance tasks and manage projects that ensure the safety and reliability of rail systems. You will work on complex infrastructure projects, contributing to the safety and risk assessment processes that are crucial for the rail industry.

What You'll Do

• Lead delivery of defined safety assurance tasks and small projects, managing outputs to time, cost, and quality.
• Conduct system safety activities including hazard identification, analysis, and risk assessment (e.g., HAZID, HAZOP, FMECA, FTA).
• Chair and facilitate safety workshops with clients and technical specialists.
• Coordinate technical safety and risk engineering activities, including safety case development and safety management systems.
• Support clients in introducing new technologies and responding to strategic challenges in the rail sector.

Requirements

• Chartered Engineer with membership in a relevant professional institution.
• Strong experience in safety and risk assessment programs within the rail sector.
• Proven understanding of safety assurance activities required for rail systems.
• Experience applying safety analysis techniques and developing safety cases.
• Fluency in Danish, Dutch, and/or German is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with Independent Safety Assessors.
• Knowledge of UK and European railway legislation and standards.
• Experience in decarbonization and digitalization in the rail sector.
