Server Administrator - Datacenter Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Server Administrator (Datacenter) remote to join our team. This role involves providing essential troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance for Dell products at customer sites. You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of server hardware, making this a fantastic opportunity for those looking to advance their Development & Programming careers.

What You'll Do

• Triage issues with guidance from Dell Support, executing plans of action from Dell Domain Engineer/L3.
• Document POA results, logs, and service reports, including parts numbers and PPID of old/new parts replaced.
• Perform reseating, swapping, or replacing parts as necessary.
• Conduct server testing and validation, running diagnostics, capturing, and uploading logs.
• Upgrade firmware as needed and manage parts locker, including inbound and outbound parts.
• Handle spare parts management during CW server deployments and ensure parts return to Dell.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification or Associate Degree preferred.
• 3-6 years of experience in server administration or related field.
• Candidate should live locally (within 15–45 minutes of the work site) and be comfortable with daily commuting.
• Willingness to work shifts and be on-call as needed.
• Hands-on experience with server hardware, including CPU, memory, power supply, and GPU replacements.
• Experience with server swaps, deployments, and component replacements.
• Familiarity with Linux and experience in building PCs is desirable.
• Ability to follow provided Plan of Action (POA) and stay current with technology through continuous learning.

Nice to Have

• Experience with water cooling servers.
