Senior Technical Consultant - Data Engineering (Remote)

We are seeking a Senior Technical Consultant - Data Engineering to join our dynamic team at Perficient. As a Senior Technical Consultant, you will play a crucial role in driving the design, automation, and scaling of our cloud-native data platform, ensuring that our clients achieve real business results through the transformative power of AI.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with engineering and business leaders to design and build data integration solutions that enhance enterprise analytics and decision-making.
• Leverage cloud technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and Power BI to deliver scalable, high-performance data solutions.
• Excel in ETL programming, data integration, and data modeling to enable self-service analytics while ensuring data accessibility, governance, and integrity.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies and contribute to an agile team, delivering continuous value to stakeholders.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and SQL Server (T-SQL).
• Implement configuration-driven ingestion processes for batch and near real-time data.
• Analyze, design, and document data models (ERDs) and create data dictionaries and data flow diagrams as part of pipeline development.
• Develop and maintain SSRS and Power BI datasets and reports, overseeing the health, scalability, and security of the Azure-based data platform.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in data engineering and BI, with a focus on Azure technologies.
• Deep expertise in SQL Server (2016+), Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and NoSQL databases.
• Strong experience in ingesting and integrating data from various formats including APIs, JSON, XML, CSV, and XLS.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (ADO/GitHub Actions/CircleCI) and DataOps practices.
• Proficient in Agile methodologies; experience with Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and backlog management.
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and mentoring skills, including experience working with offshore teams.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and streamline workflows.
• Proactive, self-driven, and committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of data domain and familiarity with Databricks or Snowflake.
