What You'll Do

• Design and implement full-text and inverted index search systems.
• Develop vector and hybrid search infrastructure to improve search capabilities.
• Address performance bottlenecks in distributed search systems.
• Build core components of our search infrastructure using Rust.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality systems work.
• Optimize query execution and indexing pipelines for efficiency.
• Contribute to the overall architecture and design of the search system.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or software development, with a focus on search infrastructure.
• Strong proficiency in Rust and experience with distributed systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in performance optimization and scalability.
• Experience with full-text search systems and indexing pipelines.
• Ability to work on-site in San Francisco, 5 days a week.
