Senior System Engineer - Space Quantum Project (Remote)

What You'll Do

• Provide system engineering support for ESA's EuroQCI Entrusted Tasks.
• Engage in requirements engineering and consolidation.
• Define functional and physical architecture.
• Conduct design trade-off analysis and interface definition.
• Model requirements verification and validation.
• Perform technical risk assessments.
• Support the tailoring of the MBSE approach to the aerospace sector.
• Work on Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and ground segment engineering.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree or equivalent in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in ground segment system engineering activities.
• Proficient in Systems Engineering documentation throughout the development life cycle.
• Experience in the space domain, particularly with ESA projects.
• Familiarity with System Engineering methodologies, standards, languages, and tools (e.g., SysML, ECSS-E-TM-10-25A).
• Willingness to undergo NATO and/or EU security clearance procedures.
• Strong solution-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Nice to Have

• Experience with optical communications, including link budgets and simulations.
• Familiarity with international standards in project execution (e.g., ECSS, MIL-STD).
