Senior System Administrator - Information Workplace Services

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior System Administrator to join our team at Raytheon. This Senior System Administrator remote position is vital in ensuring our IT infrastructure remains secure and efficient. As a key member of our Information Workplace Services, you will collaborate with various teams to support critical programs involving classified information systems.

What You'll Do

• Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment.
• Utilize your knowledge of Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.
• Work collaboratively in a fast-paced technological environment to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
• Coordinate with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and compliance.
• Document and train team members on advanced IT processes and procedures.
• Obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) within 6 months of start date.
• Be available for occasional work beyond standard hours and travel as business needs dictate.
• Support the development and implementation of secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation.
• Must possess a current U.S. government issued secret security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.

Nice to Have

• Experience as a technical SME for patching, vulnerability remediation, or compliance initiatives.
• Familiarity with VMware technologies, including ESXi and vCenter.
• Knowledge of securing system configurations and compliance tools.
• Experience with enterprise Windows services, including Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity and compliance tooling such as Splunk and STIG Viewer.
