Senior Software Engineer - NASAMS Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer - NASAMS Remote to join our team at Raytheon, a leader in defense and aerospace technology. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, testing, and deploying real-time software solutions for the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS). This position offers the opportunity to work remotely while contributing to a critical defense project that protects vital assets and populations from aerial threats.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and deliver real-time software for NASAMS, focusing on functionalities such as target detection, threat evaluation, and missile engagement.
• Utilize Agile and DevSecOps methodologies to ensure high-quality, secure, and frequent software releases.
• Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Implement algorithms for azimuth slew, missile firing, and mission abort procedures.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to meet project deadlines and performance standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
• A minimum of five years of relevant experience in software development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C++ and Java.
• Experience with Agile and DevSecOps methodologies, including tools like CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Jenkins.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory, as the position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance.

Nice to Have

• Extensive radar software development experience.
• Familiarity with missile defense programs.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as Atlassian Suite (Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence), Eclipse, and Ansible.
