About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Location-Aware Software Applications to join our dynamic team at Esri. In this remote role, you will develop visualization software that emphasizes the importance of proximity and location. Your contributions will empower developer communities to innovate location-aware applications that drive real-world improvements. You will collaborate with a talented cross-functional team of engineers dedicated to making a positive impact in communities globally.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain back-end services and APIs for location-aware software applications.
- Collaborate with front-end developers and stakeholders to deliver comprehensive end-to-end solutions.
- Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment speed and reliability.
- Ensure application performance, security, and scalability in all software solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Support production systems and troubleshoot issues as needed.
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional software development experience.
- Experience with web design and front-end development using libraries such as React, Angular, or Vue.
- Background in building high availability and high scalability solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills.
- Creative problem-solving skills and proven good judgment.
- US citizenship with Active or Current (within 2 years) Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Mathematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a related STEM field.
Nice to Have
- Master's in Computer Science, Mathematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a related STEM field.
- Esri certification and CompTIA Security + certification.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Exposure to DevSecOps practices and secure development pipelines.
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments.
