Senior Software Engineer - Lead DevOps Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Lead DevOps Engineer to join our team at Collins Aerospace. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the aerospace and defense industry. As a lead DevOps engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing new simulation systems, supporting the full lifecycle of product development, from architecture and design to integration, testing, and field support.

What You'll Do

• Serve as the lead DevOps engineer for a team developing new simulation systems.
• Coordinate with Systems, Software, and Cyber teams to develop and update build processes and deployment environments.
• Support and develop automation solutions that enable teams to build and deploy code efficiently and consistently.
• Take ownership of the program’s release process, establishing reliable change-management processes.
• Identify and maintain the program’s software toolchain, ensuring the right tools are available when required.

Requirements

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
• Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues quickly and develop effective solutions.
• Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Docker/Podman containers or Kubernetes orchestration.

Nice to Have

• Experience with modeling and simulation frameworks.
• Understanding of Agile Development Methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe).
• Experience in application development and integration with Cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
