Senior Site Reliability Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are looking for a talented and motivated Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our dynamic team at Sezzle. As a Senior SRE, you will have the autonomy to identify and resolve issues in our infrastructure, deployments, and operational workload.

What You'll Do

• Architect, upgrade, design, and build scalable infrastructure solutions leveraging Kubernetes, AWS, RDS (MySQL/Postgres), and modern distributed patterns.
• Drive the infrastructure team’s roadmap, enhancing reliability, recoverability, and scalability.
• Conduct capacity planning, benchmarking, and stress testing to prepare for business growth.
• Define and maintain SLAs and alerts across our infrastructure.
• Lead efforts in AI enablement, applying automation to enhance infrastructure reliability and developer productivity.
• Establish engineering best practices for observability, security, and CI/CD across teams.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of learning and innovation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business goals into technical roadmaps.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering or infrastructure engineering experience, including significant SRE and backend experience.
• Strong proficiency in Golang, with experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
• Expertise with SQL-based RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and performance optimization.
• Proficiency in observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic).
• Solid understanding of distributed systems design patterns.
• Demonstrated ability to influence decisions and lead complex technical initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS Aurora RDS.
• Familiarity with data engineering, data pipelines, and data warehousing.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deploying containerized microservices in Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of AI developer tooling to enhance productivity.
