Senior Site Reliability Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our team at Dispensed Global. This Senior Site Reliability Engineer remote position offers a unique opportunity to influence the operational health of a critical telehealth platform that supports better health outcomes across Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.

What You'll Do

• Define and maintain SLO and error budget frameworks across multiple services, ensuring reliability expectations are actionable.
• Design and evolve the observability architecture, providing insights into system behavior during the Django-to-Next.js migration.
• Identify systemic gaps in monitoring and incident response, driving the necessary work to close them proactively.
• Lead post-incident reviews that produce architectural changes and improve on-call processes.
• Write infrastructure-as-code and automation, setting a quality standard for the team.
• Collaborate with product engineering teams to address reliability concerns, attending design conversations and raising risks early.
• Continuously improve team operations regarding reliability, including documentation and on-call practices.

Requirements

• 6+ years in SRE, DevOps, or backend roles with production ownership.
• Experience operating and improving reliability of distributed, customer-facing systems.
• Strong cloud and infrastructure-as-code experience (AWS, Terraform, or similar).
• Hands-on experience with SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets.
• Solid observability experience (metrics, logging, tracing).
• Experience leading incidents and post-incident reviews that drive systemic change.
• Strong scripting/programming skills (e.g., Python, Go, TypeScript).
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

• Experience improving on-call practices or mentoring engineers.
