Senior Security Specialist - Remote Cybersecurity Role

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Security Specialist to join our team in a fully remote capacity. In this role, you will work on the Compliance + TLS project, focusing on enhancing web servers and database compliance metrics to meet a target of at least 95%. As a Senior Security Specialist remote, you will analyze the potential impacts of implementing hardening rules on applications, ensuring robust security measures are in place.

What You'll Do

• Analyze and evaluate the impact of hardening compliance evaluations on applications.
• Triage potential false positives or negatives during rule evaluations.
• Review and track the implementation of hardening controls from a technical perspective.
• Engage with global VSS and GRC teams to adjust global guidelines as necessary.
• Run compliance scans post-remediation to ensure security measures are effective.
• Provide guidance to CIOs regarding application updates needed to resolve compatibility issues with hardening rules.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity.
• Proven experience in hardening compliance evaluations.
• Familiarity with the Qualys Policy Compliance Module.
• Experience assessing compliance against CIS Benchmarks.
• Ability to manage security configuration settings across various platforms including O.S., middleware, and network equipment.
• Experience generating hardening compliance metrics for tracking and auditing purposes.
• Strong ability to perform gap assessments on hardening policies.
• Capability to guide system administrators on adjusting settings to enhance IT asset security.

Nice to Have

• Experience as a system administrator is a plus.
• Proficiency in Spanish is a plus, but not required.
