About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Research Engineer - Post-Training to join our innovative team at Anthropic. What You'll Do

• Implement and optimize post-training techniques at scale on frontier models.
• Conduct research to develop and refine post-training recipes that directly enhance production model quality.
• Design, build, and manage robust pipelines for model fine-tuning and evaluation.
• Develop tools to measure and improve model performance across various dimensions.
• Collaborate with research teams to translate emerging techniques into production-ready implementations.
• Debug complex issues in training pipelines and model behavior.
• Help establish best practices for reliable and reproducible model post-training.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering skills with experience in building complex ML systems.
• Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems and high-performance computing.
• Hands-on experience with training, fine-tuning, or evaluating large language models.
• Adept at analyzing and debugging model training processes.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced research environments and adapt to changing priorities.
• Experience in AI safety and responsible deployment is a plus.
