Senior Product Security Engineer - Cloud Security Focus

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Product Security Engineer to join our team at ExtraHop. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to secure complex cloud services and infrastructure while working collaboratively with a dedicated team. You will play a crucial role in building and operating product security program capabilities, tools, and processes that help us keep pace with the rapidly changing security landscape.

What You'll Do

• Implement and operate Splunk Cloud Platform and Enterprise Security, ensuring effective SIEM operations.
• Develop system configuration and hardening standards, coordinating with teams for compliance.
• Perform threat modeling, security design reviews, and code reviews.
• Build and improve vulnerability management processes and tooling.
• Deliver training on cloud security issues and best practices.
• Participate in manual penetration testing of new and existing systems.
• Engage in security investigation and incident response activities.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for prioritized security detections.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, or information technology.
• 8+ years of experience in security engineering, software development, and/or DevOps.
• Strong experience securing AWS cloud platform and services.
• Experience implementing Splunk Enterprise Security.
• Familiarity with container-based environments (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Proficiency in securing cloud-based web applications, APIs, and infrastructure.

Nice to Have

• Experience securing software-as-a-service (SaaS) offerings.
• Knowledge of compliance requirements like FedRAMP and NIST SP 800-53.
• Experience with EDR and NDR solutions.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Azure.
• Solid knowledge of scripting languages such as Python and tools like Terraform and Ansible.
