Senior Principal Software Engineer - Embedded Systems

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to join our team at Raytheon, a leader in the aerospace and defense industry. What You'll Do

• Lead software design, development, integration, and testing utilizing C/C++ and Ada.
• Oversee software algorithm development for embedded microprocessors and system on chip software design.
• Manage projects and act as a technical lead, ensuring successful delivery of software solutions.
• Conduct signal analyses and signal generation for high-speed transceivers and FPGAs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance software lifecycle phases including architecture, requirements analysis, design, implementation, and verification testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance.
• Experience with embedded systems and real-time applications on embedded platforms.
• Familiarity with tools such as Visual Studio, Git, and Jira.
• Knowledge of interfaces and bus standards such as PCIe, VPX, and Gb Ethernet.

Nice to Have

• Lab experience with logic analyzers and high-speed oscilloscopes.
• Experience tailoring Linux images for embedded devices.
• Understanding of Agile development processes and machine learning applications.
