Senior Principal Linux System Administrator - Onsite Role

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Principal Linux System Administrator to join our team at Raytheon. This role is crucial as you will be supporting our mission-critical capabilities in a classified environment. As a Senior Principal Linux System Administrator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the security and efficiency of our IT systems. This position is based in Richardson, Texas, and is 100% onsite. You will be working closely with developers and system engineers to troubleshoot and resolve system issues, making this a dynamic and impactful role.

What You'll Do

• Build, maintain, and secure Information Technology systems in a classified environment.
• Support customer mission-critical capabilities by implementing solutions to system problems.
• Conduct after-hour maintenance and on-call support as needed.
• Collaborate with program developers and system engineers to research issues and determine root causes.
• Lift up to 35 pounds for hardware installations and provide installation support as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or a master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI with poly security clearance required prior to start date.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory for security clearance eligibility.
• Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date.
• Experience with RedHat Linux and mentoring or lead experience is essential.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Agile execution and model-based systems engineering practices.
• Experience in Linux development, containerization, microservices, and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Database administration and development experience using Postgres.
• Proficiency with Cucumber, Eclipse, GIT, and SonarQube.
• Experience with automation tools/frameworks such as Terraform, Ansible, and Chef, as well as scripting in Bash and Python.
