Senior Platform Engineer - Remote Opportunity at Contentful

About the Role

Contentful is experiencing rapid growth, and we’re on the lookout for a driven Senior Platform Engineer to join our Core Data Team. In this pivotal role, you’ll be at the heart of our data operations, collaborating with developers and internal stakeholders to create cutting-edge tools for data customers while maintaining a highly adaptable platform. This Senior Platform Engineer remote position offers you the chance to make a substantial impact on the stability and performance of Contentful’s Data Platform.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable and maintainable software solutions for our data platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Architect and implement systems for efficient data orchestration, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Work closely with the Platform Engineers to integrate new technologies and tools into the data platform ecosystem.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks in the data platform, ensuring optimal data processing and access speed.
• Implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Engage in daily challenges related to data management, performance optimization, and security.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance your professional growth.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Engineering experience.
• Proficiency in cloud technologies (AWS preferred).
• Proficient coding skills in Python (Golang & TypeScript are a plus).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, Terraform (Terragrunt is a plus).
• Proficient in CI/CD tools, focusing on CircleCI.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm.
• Experienced with Git and streaming services.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Apache Airflow and/or AWS Redshift.
