Senior Platform Engineer - Azure Cloud Migration (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer - Azure Cloud Migration (Remote) to join a major transformation programme delivering large-scale cloud migration at pace. This is a fully remote position available for candidates located in the United Kingdom. As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in one of the UK’s most significant hybrid cloud transformation programmes, helping to migrate a complex estate of applications from a legacy on-prem environment into a modern hybrid architecture that spans both on-prem and Microsoft Azure.

What You'll Do

• Lead and support the migration of applications into a hybrid Azure environment.
• Design scalable, secure cloud solutions using Bicep (Infrastructure as Code).
• Define migration strategies (rehost, refactor, replatform, etc.) across a large application estate.
• Work across multiple teams to deliver a fast-paced, coordinated programme.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and stakeholders.
• Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and performance standards.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, networking, identity).
• Proven expertise in Bicep / Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience delivering large-scale cloud migration programmes.
• Background working with both COTS and bespoke applications.
• Solid understanding of hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud integration).
• Excellent stakeholder management and consulting skills.
• Active SC Clearance (must be current and transferable).
• Azure DevOps / CI-CD pipeline experience.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Containers / Kubernetes (AKS).
• Experience in secure or regulated environments.
• Cost optimisation / FinOps awareness.
